StacPay Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

This Acceptable Use Policy ("Policy") describes activities that are prohibited when using StacPay's platform, services, mobile app, or integrations (collectively, "StacPay"). By registering as a merchant or using StacPay as a customer, you agree to comply with this Policy.

StacPay reserves the right to update this Policy at any time and to suspend or terminate accounts that violate it.

1. Prohibited Products & Services

Merchants are strictly prohibited from using StacPay to sell, promote, or facilitate transactions involving:

Illegal or Unlicensed Goods/Services

  • Drugs, controlled substances, or drug paraphernalia.
  • Counterfeit, pirated, or stolen goods.
  • Firearms, ammunition, explosives, or weapons.
  • Human organs, body parts, or remains.
  • Unlicensed medical products or pharmaceuticals.
  • Products or services that violate Nigerian law or applicable international regulations.

High-Risk & Restricted Items

  • Gambling, betting, or lottery services.
  • Adult content, pornography, or escort services.
  • Multi-level marketing (MLM) or pyramid schemes.
  • Cryptocurrencies, forex trading, or unregulated securities.
  • Tobacco, vaping products, and e-cigarettes.
  • Payday loans, debt collection, or credit repair services.

Harmful or Misleading Content

  • Hate speech, harassment, or discriminatory products.
  • Misrepresented, false, or fraudulent product listings.
  • Materials that infringe on intellectual property rights.

2. Merchant Responsibilities

All vendors using StacPay must:

  • Provide accurate business and product information during onboarding.
  • Comply with Know Your Customer (KYC) verification requirements, including submission of valid government-issued identification, business registration documents, and banking information.
  • Ensure that all items sold are genuine, safe, and legally compliant.
  • Honor StacPay's refund and dispute resolution processes.
  • Maintain fair pricing practices and transparent order fulfillment.

3. Customer Protection

Merchants must:

  • Deliver purchased goods/services on time and as described.
  • Provide valid receipts and invoices to customers.
  • Respect customer data privacy in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) and other applicable data protection laws.
  • Refrain from engaging in misleading or aggressive sales practices.

4. Fraud & Abuse Prevention

You must not use StacPay to:

  • Launder money or disguise the source of funds.
  • Conduct transactions intended to manipulate payment systems.
  • Create multiple fake accounts or impersonate others.
  • Bypass StacPay's settlement or dispute mechanisms.

5. Compliance & Enforcement

StacPay reserves the right to:

  • Review and monitor merchant activity at any time.
  • Request additional documentation or verification.
  • Suspend or permanently close accounts that violate this Policy.
  • Report suspicious activities to law enforcement or regulators.

6. Changes to This Policy

StacPay may update this Policy periodically. Merchants and customers will be notified of significant changes, and continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
